Jennifer and Sloane’s Wedding June 14th, 2009

Even if you don’t live in New England, surely you’ve heard that the month of June has been a total wash. So far its rained 15 days (out of 19). Not generally a good thing for such a big wedding month. With my apologies to those brides, grooms and photographers that haven’t been so fortunate, the weather gods have truly been with me and with the couples that I’ve had the good fortune to photograph this month. And this past Sunday was no exception. Sandwiched in between the gloomy Saturday and the rain soaked Monday, it was a day that couldn’t be beat. Starting out a bit gloomy, but as predicted, the sun started peaking through around 1 pm, just as I arrived at the Inn at Longshore in Westport for Jennifer and Sloane’s fabulous wedding. And from there it just became more and more glorious. From the sun drenched outdoor ceremony by the water to the perfect temperature for the cocktail hour, all was as it should always be. Jennifer and Sloane were a joy to photograph, even sneaking out with me for a few minutes of photos with that great afternoon light. The two of them even had a little surprise in store for her parents who were celebrating their own anniversary, presenting them with their version of the wedding cake, which they took great delight in cutting and serving to each other. To top it all off, the entire day was being discreetly documented by a videographer for the Discovery Channel show “Say Yes to the Dress“, scheduled for broadcasting in the Fall. So be on the lookout for that and maybe you’ll even get a glimpse of yours truly. Congrats, once again to Jennifer and Sloane on your extraordinary wedding day.
